The NWTRPA Community Leaders Retreat is a highly interactive, informative, and idea provoking educational event. Both experienced and new community leaders will benefit from learning more about decolonization in the NWT.
The goal of the Community Leaders Retreat is to provide increased awareness and knowledge of decolonization, offer events that are fun and allow for interaction, and focus attention on the benefits of recreation among participants.
When: Wednesday February 27 - Friday, March 1
Where: Blachford Lake Lodge
Who should attend:
Staff and volunteers, with or without a formal title, who are currently or want to play a stronger role as a community leader. It is geared to those from a variety of sectors e.g. health, social services, recreation, economic development, education, justice, libraries, elected officials, tourism, arts, environment etc. who are committed to working with others to strengthen leadership and innovation, and ultimately, the capacity and resiliency in their communities.
Meals, accommodation, and flights from Somba K'e to Blachford Lake Lodge and back are included.
You must be a member of the NWTRPA to register. If you are not currently a member, register here and then register for this retreat.
To be considered fully registered we require 100% payment.
If you need to cancel your registration, the NWTRPA must be notified of the cancellation by email. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date and time we receive email notification as follows:
o Before 3 days of workshop date – 85% refund
o Within 24 hours of workshop date – No refund
The NWT Recreation and Parks Association reserves the right to cancel any program or workshop. If such a situation arises you will be notified as soon as possible (by email or phone call). As a result of such a cancellation, you will be refunded all monies paid.
